Kix live April 5, 2019.
The rockers from Maryland took the stage with their hard rock music. The quintet opened up with “Wheels in Motion”, “Lie like a Rug” and “No Ring Around Rosie” as frontman Steve Whiteman was dancing around the stage maniacally and giving fist bumps to the people in the front row. Steve thanked the fans and said it was the 8th or 9th time playing the Wolf Den. The band continued to play songs from their catalog like “Get it While It’s Hot”, “Midnight Dynamite”,and a few others. I was front row and Steve was right in my face. The band was so loud I thought the stage was about to collapse.
The singer encouraged the crowd to get closer to the stage. Guitarists Ronnie Youkins and Brian Forsythe played fiercely into the favorite “Cold Shower” and brought out the umbrella for this song. The band jammed out with bassist Mark Schender laying down a funky rythm.
Steve then came out wearing thee famous money sun glasses and went into the song “Girl Money.”
The band slowed it down a bit with their iconic hit “Don’t Close your Eyes.”The song was very heart felt and the crowd was roaring. It felt like time stopped and we were all in the 80’s again. Then came “The Itch “, Steve interacted with the crowd and they loved it.It got really crazy as the band went into “Love Me With The Top Down”, “Cold Blood” was then played and drummer Jimmy Chalfont went into an incredible drum solo and left crowd roaring and wanting more. The band rocked and finished the set with “Blow my Fuse” and “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah”. This was one kick ass show!!!. Do yourself a favor and check out the band when you get a chance.
