Edgar Winter Mohegan Sun 2019

Edgar Winter live at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den,  Uncasville CT on June 22, 2019.

Edgar Winter and his band came out on stage wasting no time rocking the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den. Edgar played fan favorite Free Ride and went into a phenominal blues Jam. The band was incredibly talented! They showed off many times making everything they played look easy for them during the Texas Jam. Edgar then dedicated the song Tabacco Road to his legendary brother Johnny who passed away in 2014. During the song Edgar did some scat vocals with the guitarist, trading licks with him back and forth. It was amazing ! I could not believe the vocal range Edgar had. It was outstanding. He was really rockin! The bass was really groovy as they jammed parts of Led Zeppelin,Cream and parts of the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir. The drummer was killing it up there as he closed out the the song! The mighty Edgar asked us if we were having a good time ! We were all having a blast! Then came “The Power of Positive Drinking!!” This was a really cool tune’ which featured Edgar on the sax. Edgar was telling the crowd about how he invented the keyboard with a strap. He made musical history. Edgar took us into the next song which was the legendary instrumental song ” Frankenstein.” The band was rocking this masterpiece out! I got shivers down my spine !This song featured Edgar playing sax, keyboard, and precussion. The precussion was intense. Edgar ws going back and forth with the drummer! This song had power and fury ! Edgar Winter is a musical genius! At the end of the song  the crowd screamed and cheered. The band left the stage, when they returned for the encore. Edgar asked if we were ready to go home. I don’t think anyone was.He also told us he was doing a Johnny Winter tribute album! Edgar played one more song Rick Derringer’s “Rock-n-Roll Hootchie Koo! “I cant wait for Edgar to come back !!!
