1. What’s new with Tear Out The Heart?
We’ve been hard at work writing our sophomore album. Getting ready to go out for a month long tour with Palisades and Famous last words in just a few days.
2. How was it recording the Violence album?
Recording Violence was an all around positive experience. We had a blast working with Caleb Shomo and can’t wait to start work with him again on this second record.
3. How did the song writing process work for the album?
There’s no telling really, all of the songs start in demo form and can be written whenever really. Then they start to take true shape when we take them to the studio.
4. How was it filming the video Dead By Dawn?
Such a chaotic yet fun experience. Always a pleasure working with the Director Eric Richter. He rarely says no to any of our ideas, no matter how crazy they may seem haha. Very appreciative for that.
5. What would be some of the craziest stuff you’ve seen on tour?
Every day is an adventure, I wouldn’t even know where to begin honestly. If you were sober enough to remember it then it probably wasn’t all that crazy in the first place.
6. Without Social Media could bands today manage to survive?
Absolutely. If anything it would just force them to work harder and wean out the weak and uninspired. We’ve been busting our asses and touring constantly since day 1 with this band and I recommend any band starting out to do the same.
7. What would be some of your main influences?
Poison The Well. Pantera. Deftones. New Found Glory. Refused. Glassjaw.
8. What could we find interesting in your music collection at home?
I don’t have rules haha I’m pretty all over the place with what I listen to. I don’t believe there’s such a thing as a “guilty pleasure”. I like what I like and fuck what you think.
9. Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour?
I wake up in a van, more than likely hungover and either cold as fuck or hot as hell and immediately find a Taco Bell. We then head to the venue in the next city to load in and sound check. After that, we hang out around the merch booth or the bar until we play. Afterwards, we party till we have to climb in the van and do if all over again haha.
10. Where do you see music going in 100 years from now?
I haven’t the slightest clue and who really cares? Music is so unpredictable and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much.
