Screaming At Demons Interview with Shimon Moore (Vocals) and Chris Clemence (Bass). More on Shimon Moore ex Sick Puppies singer and guitarist.

What’s new in the world of Screaming At Demons? Shim: Everything! New band. New sound. First single coming out October 6. New journey man.

When will the album or singles be available online? Chris: Our first single “Rockstar” comes out October 6th. But we are releasing it in a very different way. You won’t be able to get it on iTunes, Spotify, or any music outlets. The only way you can get it is on October 6, watch our ” Rockstar” video on our Vevo channel. At the end of the video instructions will appear with a phone number to text “Rockstar” to. This will take you to a page where you can donate to the Homeless Rockstars charity. Once you donate, the song will automatically appear in your email. This ensures we help the most people possible through Homeless Rockstars without losing large percentages to these major corporations.

When you mention a video with 77,000,000 views that is major. To be one of the first viral videos ever that is like a piece of history. Must feel good to have that accomplishment? Shim: It was after. I didn’t realize until after the hurricane passed and I could look back. It was such a crazy few months that I couldn’t keep up. I’m using a lot of what I learned from that with the “Rockstar” video and making sure we don’t have to play as much catch up this time. The free hugs video took us all by surprise and we missed some opportunities out of lack of preparation.

What is the strangest inspiration you’ve ever had for a song? Shim: When the guy at a DVD rental store wouldn’t give me a refund cause the sound and images were out of sync.

Do you consider album artwork as important now that music is mostly downloaded? Chris: I think art is super important for a band because essentially, you are a brand. You need art that reflects the vibe of the project and is instantly recognizable as being associated with the band. Look at the Rolling Stone’s lips, or Chili Peppers asterisk. You immediately know it’s those bands. I really love our new logo of the demon with a halo and think it captures the essence of our group. It also looks super cool on t-shirts.

Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour? Shim: Once we go on tour, we will let you know;) Screaming at Demons has come together very differently than most bands. We haven’t even confirmed the drummer yet!

Which notable bands have you played with throughout the years that would good to mention? Chris: We’ve been super lucky to share the stage with some of the greats over the years. For myself some notable ones are Chris Cornell, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White, and the Scorpions.

Shim: umm…. Most of my heroes really. Sevendust. Evanescence. Breaking Benjamin. Papa Roach. Nickelback. Deep Purple. Bush. 30 seconds to Mars. Slipknot. Iron Maiden. Limp Bizkit. Incubus. My Chem. fly leaf. Resident hero. Shinedown. Bla Bla Bla.

What goals as a musician have you yet to achieve? Shim : They come up as you go. I got songs I haven’t written yet I’m looking forward to singing. Playing with my new band and having a new experience. Sharing the stage and creating new emotions with the audience.

What type of jobs did you have before becoming a professional full-time musician? Chris: I was a bee keeper and also worked in a waxing salon. It was in an Armenian neighborhood so it was a lot of work.
Shim: What’s a job?

Any words of wisdom to share with aspiring artists? Shim: Learn the business as much as you learn your instrument.
