Rise To Remain Interview

1. Could you tell me about recording the debut Rise To Remain album City Of Vultures?

Sure, the recording process took about 3 months, then we mixed it and mastered over the next 2, so it was about 5 months in total. We all really loved recording the album, it was a major experience and a dream come true for us.

2. How far is the tour going and how do you keep occupied while on tour?

The Warped Tour goes from June 16th– August 5th! It’s a huge tour, so I guess we’ll be sleeping for most of the drives and playing shows the rest of it. Partying and hanging out will fill up the gaps, looking forward to that shit.

3. What does Rise To Remain think about Social Media today?

It’s more intensely connected than ever now. It signals bad things for our industry right and has done for a long time, but I also think that the industry is changing and adapting. But regardless, I think that stealing and being fed the idea that your music or art is totally worth nothing and is public property is really disgraceful.

4. Do you keep up to date with what’s coming out in your genre of music?

Totally, we love this kind of music, and we have a ton of respect and admiration for a lot of new bands, especially from the UK. Plus we get the honor of seeing most of them live, so we love that perk.

5. How is the current music scene in your area?

Londonis pretty cool, there’s a lot of trends and a couple bands stick to them, but I’d also say that that just accompanies a lot of really great bands that people want to copy because they’re fucking awesome. Either way, there’s a thriving scene and we’re proud of our roots.

6. What other projects are you working on for the future?

We’ve got four new tracks that are out with our US release of City Of Vultures, we’re doing the Warped Tour, Download Festival, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park and Sonisphere in Spain…after that, it’s a secret.

7. What could we find interesting in your Music collection in 2012?

Lana Del Rey? She’s ok.

8. Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician in the studio?

Coffee, warm up, work, coffee, work, lunch, warm up, work, coffee, work. We usually have the caffeine while we’re working, so count those as two in one.

9. Any advice for musicians that are starting in the music industry?

Just really trust what you do, always give it your hardest thought and greatest effort to make it as good as it can be, but if you truly love it, just trust it and go with it. Once you’ve got that, play as many shows as you can get your ass to. You got all your bases covered that way!
