1) How is the life with Half Blood these days in Santiago, Chile?

First of all, greetings to all. Answering the question, life with the band these days is based on rehearsing very hard to improve our live sound, in addition to making the necessary efforts to make our material known.

2) The self titled album took how long to write and record?

The whole process of creating our debut album took more than two years. In the first stage of this process, we dedicated ourselves to creating the best material possible. After contacting Logan Mader, we began the pre-production process and decided which songs would be part of the album. We were able to improve the songs with advice from Logan. The instrument tracking, recorded in Santiago, took about a week, and the vocals took another ten days including mixing and mastering at Logan Mader’s studio.

3) When writing a song, is there such a thing as investing too much time?

Everything depends on the song according to our point of view. There are songs that need more arrangements and that give us the possibility to write more and better parts (of the song). In these cases, we take all the time necessary to carry out our ideas. On the other hand, there are more visceral songs that do not need many changes.

4) Do you have any tours coming up in the near future?

We don’t have any tours planned at the moment. We have a couple of dates in the near future, but we are currently working on promoting our material. Of course we hope to do a tour as soon as possible.

5) Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician?

We practice hard to make a living in music. We see other artists live, watching and analyzing shows of bands that we respect, as well as complementing this with our family life.

6) Could you describe some of your earliest influences in life and in music?

There are always determination factors in the early stages of life that lead us to fall in love with music. In our case, we all feel this for rock and metal. Each of us has different influences, which make our music what it is. However, we have common influences in terms of sound and how we work. To name a few; Sepultura, Slipknot, and Gojira.

7) Is the band fans of Spotify and similar streaming services? What are your thoughts on this?

Of course we are fans of Spotify and other streaming services. Thanks to them, artists can make their material known to a greater number of people instantly. In spite of this, it will always be better for us to count with physical copies of our album, because we believe it is a better quality product.

8) Where do you see music in general going in 100 years from now?

Music in 100 years, in our opinion, will be increasingly segmented, and the number of artists will probably be higher, but in general, there will be no major changes. Music for the masses will become increasingly empty and meaningless, but there will always be artists giving life to a rich musical scene.
