Whitesnake The Joint Hard Rock Hotel
The new Whitesnake lineup totally rocked the Joint last nite to an appreciative and ravenous crowd who was literally blown away by the show!
David Coverdale screamed and sang his balls off on “Give Me All Your Love ” “Mistreated”. “Here I Go Again “and the show closer “Still Of The Night”, but he also showed his soulful side on songs like ” Is This Love ” where the band showed its true class playing with dynamics and heart and soul…. And what a band it is with lightning rod and truly one of the greatest drummers ever,,,,, Tommy Aldridge ……whose keen sense for tempos, grooves and excitement provided the anchor for the dazzling guitar pyrotechnics of Reb Beach and newcomer Joel Hoekstra who in tandem showed how two guitarists could show the true meaning of a team!
Each with an arsenal of licks, tricks, melodies, motifs, the blues, harmonies and the ability to shred were as impressive as any of the
former Whitesnake guitar lineups or any other guitar duo for that matter! Kudos to both Reb and Joel for both their faithfulness to the songs and for their adding their own special touches to the proceedings!
Add bassist / singer Michael Devin , who not only played his ass off but sang his ass off trading lead vocals with Coverdale in spots and also playing some very cool harmonica at one point in the set !
As for the give the drummer some – drum solo – the audience was treated to not only one of the best at it , but a hands on demonstration as Tommy sans sticks attacked his drum kit with his hands putting an exclamation point on a solo that literally was a tour de force in and of and by itself!
Add the girth of other great memorable songs and David Coverdales wit and on stage banter and this show was as memorable as any show i can remember seeing – an Amazing and Awesome feast for the eyes, the ears and the hearts!
