Halifax, Nova Scotia saw its 1st Annual Spread the Metal Festival at the Halifax Forum on July 5th & 6th.
The 2 day event saw many great Metal bands from all over North America and more. Friday evening’s lineup included Halifax’s own Black Moor playing a great show for the Metal fans with a great deal of showmanship and energy. We saw Cryptopsy from Montreal shred at insane speeds and admired the great showmanship of frontman Matt McGachy. Finally to end the great evening we saw the legends of Death Metal, Florida’s Mighty Morbid Angel, rip the stage with classic hits from the past. David Vincent had great stage presence and an awesome voice. Trey Azagthoth ripped through solos just as he did in the classic albums. The sound quality for Morbid Angel was absolutely spectacular. All of the bands had great sound in fact. The overall experience to see Morbid Angel for the first time in Halifax was great, Nova Scotia. Must have made lots of die-hard fans smile.
