– What’s new in the world of Kaleido?

We’re releasing our first full length album EXPERIENCE on May 19th, 2017 and getting ready for a national tour with Seether and Letters From The Fire beginning May 2nd.

– How was it recording your album Experience?
We took our time and made sure that we captured the energy we have when performing on stage. We were able to be ourselves 100% and that meant the most to us. These songs are raw & full of real life.. it was important that came across in the recordings.
– When writing a song, is there such a thing as investing too much time? What’s the shortest time you ever took to write one? What was your strangest inspiration?

Totally. You start to over analyze and second guess yourself. We’ve found it’s better to just get it out on the spot when it comes. We’ve put together multiple songs in less than an hour before. It all comes down to being open and ready for when creativity and inspiration strike. Inspiration is magical and strange in general I think.

– How many shows do you play per year on average, and how crazy does the schedule get?

About 200. The schedule can get intense when there’s multiple shows in 1 day, or a show every single day in a week… but we love it!!

– Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour or in the studio?

On tour.. LOTS of driving. It’s usually – wake up, find coffee ASAP, get in the van and drive anywhere from 2-10 hours, manage the bands social media, unload gear, set up, sound check, eat, warm up, wait, play the show, tear down, reload the trailer, sleep and repeat. Also pack as much FUN as humanly possible into that schedule! In the studio.. its a lot slower paced, chill and a different mindset entirely. More on the artistic, creative side of things.

– What’s your take on the sex appeal in the music industry? Is it as important for men and women?
I think being yourself 100% is the sexiest thing on earth… authenticity is sexy. Everyone’s different and there’s a billion people in the world .. man or woman .. take care if yourself, pour your heart and soul into your music .. looks fade and good music lasts forever. Be you! That’s sexy.

– Is the band fans of Spotify and similar streaming services? What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah, any platform that helps reach new people is cool with us.

– In your opinion, which album would be essential to have if someone were stranded on a deserted island?

Whatever puts you in a REALLY good mood and inspires a stroke of genius to find a way off!! haha
– Where do you see music in general going in 100 years from now?
Shoot .. let me fire up my time machine and I’ll get back to you on that one….
