Concepts Interview with Aaron Isbell – We talk about the new EP Transitions, music videos in the industry today, artwork and directions, video single Animals by Maroon 5.
Concepts Interview
– What’s new in the world of Concepts?
Just getting our release out of the way and then getting ready to record and release all the new stuff we’ve been preparing for a bit. There’s no rest and no stopping us now.
– How was it recording the new EP Transitions?
It was actually quite easy once we stopped going to to different studios that kept screwing us over. Aaron (the screamer) had been in investing money and years in his recording studio and thought that for this it would be better that we just take care of it on our own, so we did.
– How did you go about making the artwork?
It was mainly Aaron Isbell’s and Travis Poston’s (concepts graphic design guy) idea they’re both real big into the movie “The Great Gatsby” and thought that theme would work perfectly for this release!
– What is the strangest inspiration you’ve ever had for a song?
I would have to say that the strangest inspiration for a song would be writing about quitting smoking, but we’ll keep it secret which song that is ;)
– How important are music videos in the industry today? How do they compare to videos from 20 years ago?
We feel like music videos are an extension of the music itself and used as a visual interpretation of the song and back in the day I feel like bands just did them to do them.
– Must be an awesome feeling when your singles do so well. The current single “Animals” by Maroon 5 has a great promo video. How long was the process for that video?
We’re glad everyone loves our new cover! The video we did for it we literally shit in less than an hour and had the same guy that did all of our other videos to shoot it for us.
– Do you see a biography being written someday about the experiences you acquired or will acquire in your life?
We would like to see that, we just want to tour as much as we can and spread our music and meet our fans and give them the best show experience we can!
– Where do you see music in general going in 100 years from now?
I wouldn’t be surprised if future music was just a bunch of beeps and boops. But as time tells us, things tend to cycle through history over and over so there’s no telling, people of the future could be listening to the same music possibly!
