The band is performing their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Celebration Tour in Halifax on October 24 at Scotiabank Centre.
Rock & Roll Hall of Famers FOREIGNER announce their 2025 Canadian Tour, kicking off October 21st in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This extensive tour across Canada serves as a prelude to the launch of ‘Juke Box Hero, The Musical,’ set to go into production in 2026.
Canadian legends 54.40 will join the tour, performing their hits including “I Go Blind” and “Ocean Pearl.” The tour will also feature special guest vocalist Geordie Brown, known for his role in the workshop production of ‘Juke Box Hero, The Musical’ in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre.
With almost 50 years of rock history, FOREIGNER continues to dominate the charts with enduring anthems like “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Feels Like The First Time,” and the worldwide #1 hit “I Want To Know What Love Is.” The band maintains massive airplay with over 15 million weekly streams of their hits.
FOREIGNER has a strong connection to Canada, dating back to their memorable 2006 CBC New Year’s Eve broadcast from Niagara Falls. This 2025 tour represents their biggest Canadian tour to date, bringing their catalog of hits to fans across the country.

As Foreigner gears up for their October 24th concert at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, longtime keyboardist Michael Bluestein spoke about the band’s upcoming Canadian tour, the addition of new members, and the discipline it takes to keep touring after nearly five decades of classic rock.
A Nova Scotian Surprise
Foreigner’s 2025 Canadian tour will feature a special local connection — Halifax’s own Jordy Brown, who previously starred in the Jukebox Hero musical based on Foreigner’s catalog. Bluestein explained that Brown will appear as a guest vocalist on select songs during the tour.
“Jordy was involved in the first incarnation of the Jukebox Hero musical, and he’s going to be featured as a guest singer on a few songs during the Canadian tour.”
New Voices and Familiar Legends
The band is in transition as longtime frontman Kelly Hansen prepares to step down after two decades. His final shows will be in Atlantic City, after which Luis Maldonado will take over lead vocals for the Canadian run.
Foreigner also welcomes John Roth (formerly of Kip Winger and Jefferson Starship) as rhythm guitarist and background vocalist.
“Kelly Hansen is finishing up his duties as lead singer — it’s been 20 years now. His last two shows will be in Atlantic City, and then Luis will be our lead singer for Canada.”
Bluestein also revealed that the band will close out the year with a special ‘Foreigner 4’ tour in early December, performing the entire Foreigner 4 album live — joined by original singer Lou Gramm.
“We’ll be doing the full Foreigner 4 album with Lou Gramm joining us for eight shows in early December. People love Lou — his voice is truly legendary.”
Life on the Road
With over 90 to 100 shows a year, Bluestein says Foreigner’s schedule remains intense but rewarding. The band carefully balances touring with downtime for family and rest.
“We generally do about 90 to 100 shows a year. They make sure we get home for breaks — we couldn’t keep it up otherwise.”
He also shared insights into maintaining focus and health on tour — especially as the years add up.
“You’ve got to be healthy. I meditate at least once a day, stretch, eat well, and get plenty of sleep. As you get older, it’s just not sustainable to live like you’re in your 20s anymore.”
Keeping Grounded
Bluestein admits that after so many cities and shows, it can all blend together — “the blur factor.” To stay present, he takes time to explore each stop when possible.
“Sometimes you get into another casino and think, ‘Have we been here before?’ Taking pictures or going for walks helps me remember where we are.”
Evolving Sound & Gear
Since joining Foreigner in 2008, Bluestein has been a key creative force in the band’s live sound. Though a dedicated keyboard tech handles most of his setup, he still experiments and integrates new synthesizers into his rig while on the road.
“I’ve got a new keyboard that I’ll be integrating into the rig. When you add new gear, there’s always programming and technical work — I’ll be doing some of that here at the casino before the next show.”
Looking Ahead
As Foreigner heads into its next era with new members and fresh energy, Bluestein remains enthusiastic and grateful for the band’s enduring connection with fans — especially in Canada.
“We’re looking forward to it, man. Halifax is always great — hopefully the weather cooperates!”
