Evans Blue Interview

1. How was the recording experience for Evans Blue album Graveyard of Empires?

There’s few things i love more than being in the studio, so every time we are in there it is very special to me. Everyone had their input on this one like every other one but this one was particularly special I’d have to say. We poured our heart and souls into this album and i really think it shows. Like other albums, most of it was written before we even got together via                 Vlad and i sending Dan mp3 demos. So when we all got together it was a few days of pre-production then right into the studio to track.

2. Where will Evans Blue be touring this summer?

Everywhere! We will be hitting the east coast through the mid-west and Texas this summer than heading out west in the fall.

3. Life on the road should be an interesting way to live. How do you manage your time?

It can be the most boring exciting job ever haha. Show days you sit around waiting for sound check or go do a radio interview and off days just try to stay busy. I like to golf or go to the gym, play some video games on the bus or watch a movie. Most importantly do laundry!!

4. What are your current endorsements?

I play diamond nitrox amps right now.

5. Without Social Media could bands today manage to survive?

I doubt it. With the lack of label support these days, the internet and social media sites are the best way to get  your name out there. We make a very strong effort to reply to everyone on our Facebook and twitter. I love the instant feedback you can get from the fans and they appreciate us taking the time to reply to their questions.Evans Blue Graveyard of Empires

6. What’s your vision of the internet for musicians in the future?

Hmmm not quite sure!! Haha i think musicians will do well if they worry less about their songs getting stolen and worry more about writing songs worth stealing. The possibilities are endless really.

7. How is the Canadian Music Scene compared to the rest of the world?

It is much less hard rock than anywhere else I’ve been. More alternative/indie I’d say.

8. What could we find interesting in your Music collection in 2012?

I listen to a lot of classical music these days. It started just when i was driving and now it’s moved into the house. I love orchestral music, always have.

9. Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life?

Yes, easily. If i am home, i am woken up by my 3 year old son at the crack of dawn (sometimes earlier) and spend my day entertaining him. Otherwise i am at the gym or on the golf course. I always try to throw some song writing in every day as well. It’s good to stay busy!

10. Where do you see Rock Music in 100 years from now?

Hopefully still around!! Well at least in this form. With real instruments and people who can actually sing live. No holograms. No lip syncing. Please. Haha
