With over five decades of anthems and ballads behind them, April Wine continues to deliver the melodic, guitar-driven rock that made them a staple of Canada’s music history.

In this interview, Brian shares stories from across his career and reflects on what keeps the music and the road life exciting after all these years.

APRIL WINE SET TO ROCK NORTH AMERICA IN 2026 AS SPECIAL GUESTS OF TRIUMPH

Fans of classic Canadian rock ’n’ roll have plenty to celebrate as Triumph announces its first North American tour in decades — and fellow Canadian rock legends April Wine will be joining them as special guests on the spring 2026 run.

Running from April 22 through June 6, the tour will visit many of the cities where both bands built devoted followings over the years, including Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, St. Louis, San Antonio, New York, and more. Tickets are now on sale for all shows. https://www.livenation.com/artist/K8vZ917CqB0/triumph-events

The current lineup of April Wine features Brian Greenway (guitar), Richard Lanthier (bass), Roy Nichol (drums), and Marc Parent (lead vocals, guitar). This will not be the first time April Wine and Triumph have shared the stage. Longtime fans may recall a February 18, 1977 show at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas, which served as Triumph’s major American breakthrough.

The bands also shared stages in Texas during March 1978 as part of promoter JAM Productions’ concert run, with fans recalling lineups featuring April Wine, Crack the Sky, and Triumph. Both bands have deep roots in the region, aided by early radio support from San Antonio’s KISS-FM, which helped Canadian rock acts build strong U.S. audiences.

April Wine has remained a cornerstone of Canadian rock for more than five decades. Known for powerful ballads and arena-ready rock anthems, the band has weathered lineup changes and shifts in the music industry while staying true to its sound. Their live performances continue to attract loyal fans eager to relive the music that defined generations.

Formed in 1969, April Wine built a legendary catalog that includes hits such as Just Between You and Me, Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Roller, I Like to Rock, Oowatanite, Enough Is Enough, and Rock N Roll Is A Vicious Game, among many others.

The band’s legacy has been recognized through major honors, including induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2009, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010, and Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2023.

Today, April Wine continues to tour and keep classic rock alive for longtime fans and new audiences alike. In 2026, they once again bring their melodic, guitar-driven rock across North America alongside Triumph.
