Jiggley Jones Interview

1. What’s new in the world of Jiggley Jones?
A new release ! An EP called “No Spring Chicken” and the new single from that record called “Ain’t That Alright.”

2. Where did the influences

come from for the EP No Spring Chicken?
Mainly from life itself. The emotions and moments that life creates as it moves along. The name of the record was inspired by the fact that, even us older songwriters have something to say, so don’t forget about us, lol.

3. Are you keeping busy concerts and tours?
I’m playing live as much as I can right now and also doing an endless amount of phone interviews.

4. What equipment are you currently endorsing, etc.
None at the moment, though I have been offered. I continue to leave that door open if the right thing comes along.

5. Without Social Media could bands and musicians today manage to survive?
On a local level it’s possible, depending on how many friends you have. I think if you’re really innovative you might be able to pull it off, but eventually if you move to the next level social media would have to be involved to be competitive.

6. What were your earliest influences in life?
In my youth I grew up in a household where Classic Rock was the order of the day. Neil Young and The Eagles, etc… Overall though my influences stemmed from my country environment, with the farmland and the local church down the street.

7. What would be some of your main influences today?
I know some people won’t agree but I love the direction Country music is heading, branching out to the fringes and gathering some really cool bands that years ago would have been looked over.

8. What could we find interesting in your music collection at home?
I own anything from Mozart to James Taylor, from Led Zeppelin to Dave Matthews, and from Johnny Cash to Prince, lol.

9. Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour?
It usually starts with a deep breath in the morning and some warm up vocal stuff in an attempt to relax and focus. The rest of the day could be real intense so you need to focus on staying in that musical mood without getting sucked up into the mayhem, having it carry over into your performance. Sometimes that’s quite difficult.

10. Where do you see music going in 100 years from now?
Wow that would be impossible to gauge but I can tell you this; I sure hope it remains an important part of our world because music is one of the most powerful things that we humans have at our disposal.
