Deep Purple, Kansas & Jefferson Starship Live at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax
Deep Purple will bring a massive night of classic rock to the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with very special guests Kansas and Jefferson Starship.
The concert brings together three legendary rock bands whose careers collectively span decades, making this one of the biggest classic rock lineups heading to Halifax this summer.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with tickets starting at $55 plus applicable fees.
Deep Purple Returns to Halifax
Formed in 1968, Deep Purple helped pioneer the sound of hard rock and have gone on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.
The British rock legends are responsible for some of the most recognizable songs in rock history, including “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star,” “Space Truckin’,” “Woman from Tokyo,” and “Perfect Strangers.”
Deep Purple’s celebrated MKII lineup of Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Jon Lord, and Ritchie Blackmore created some of the band’s most influential recordings during the early 1970s. That era also produced the legendary live album Made in Japan, which remains one of the most celebrated live rock albums of its generation.
The band’s influence was formally recognized with its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
More than five decades after their formation, Deep Purple continue to record new music and tour internationally, introducing their catalogue to new generations while maintaining a worldwide fanbase built over decades.
Very Special Guest: Kansas
Joining Deep Purple in Halifax will be American progressive and classic rock veterans Kansas.
Originally formed in Topeka, Kansas, the band released its self-titled debut album in 1974 and went on to become one of America’s most successful classic rock groups, with more than 30 million albums sold worldwide.
Their catalogue includes 1970s rock staples such as “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind,” and “Point of Know Return.”
Over their career, Kansas have earned multiple gold and platinum albums, while songs such as “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind” have remained fixtures of classic rock radio for generations.
Their appearance alongside Deep Purple brings together two bands that played major roles in defining the sound of 1970s rock.
Jefferson Starship Joins the Lineup
Jefferson Starship will also appear in Halifax as additional support, adding another major name from classic rock history to the bill.
One of the successful arena rock acts of the 1970s and 1980s, Jefferson Starship earned three platinum and eight gold records while scoring numerous Top 40 hits.
Their catalogue includes fan favourites such as “Jane,” “Miracles,” “Find Your Way Back,” and “No Way Out.”
With Jefferson Starship joining Deep Purple and Kansas, the Halifax concert will bring together three bands whose music has remained a significant part of classic rock radio and culture for decades.
