Kansas City, MO based Daniel Nicolle Band gave the crowd at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, CT a fantastic night of blues. The Billboard Music Chart topper and Grammy nominated artist completely lived up to her reputation as a consummate blues artist and a bass player to outshine even the best at the craft. On top of that she has a voice that is reminiscent of Janis Joplin’s deep tone and the ability to croon in one number and change up to a loud and very easy on the ears tone when called for.
Nicolle’s band consists of just a trio, herself on bass, her husband and guitar player Brandon Miller and Go-Go Ray on Drums. The trio sounds like so much more as they each brought out rich sound, vocals and rhythm that rivaled a 5 piece band. Honestly with a sound like that no more instruments were needed.
Nicolle has been #1 on the Billboard Music Chart. She achieved a 2019 Grammy Nomination for Contemporary Blues Album, 2 Blues Music Awards, one for Contemporary Female Artist and her second Instrumentalist – Bass, and 3 Independent Blue Music Awards.
During the evening Nicole brought out a number of different bass guitars and showed her talents on each one as well as her dynamic vocal range.
She’s recently received her 6th Blues Music Award; most notably her 4th for the category of Bass Instrumentalist. She is definetly coming into her own and the world is standing up and taking notice that women can excel and lead the pack as bassists along with the best of men and her accumulation of awards in the past few years is proof her accomplishments. The music world is rewarding her for her hard work and talent. Look out for more from Danielle Niclole Band in the future.
The band is on a world tour so there are plenty of opportunities to catch her at a venue close to you. If you do get the chance to take in a Danielle Nicole Band concert don’t miss it as you will be missing something special. Her and the band will knock your socks off and rock your night with great blues, rock and world class entertainment.
