4th ‘N Goal Interview with vocalist Mocho. EasyCore, PopPunk, CheesyCore band from Milan, Italy talks about Turn On The Light EP.
4th ‘N Goal Interview
– What’s new in the life of 4th ‘N Goal?
We’ve just released our new EP “Turn On The Light” on April 21st and we’re currently on tour trough Italy. One month ago Kerrang premiered our video parody of Drown by BMTH that is almost reaching 100k views in less than a month and other things are on the way: so it’s a really busy period!
– How was it recording the EP Turn On The Light?
it was literally crazy: we divided recording into 2 separate sessions: 1st in January and 2nd in March. it was our first experience with Andrea Fusini but we found ourselves at ease with him. He made an impressive work with our songs giving a granitic sound to our EP.
– How long did it take to make the music video Drown? A lot of great quality footage going in it.
Believe it or not it only took 2 weeks for: planning the video – recording the song – shooting the video – post production: all scenes were shot in one day! it was INSANE!
– Are there any tours coming this summer?
Our Italian tour ends in June, we’re planning to tour Europe and UK during summer and then Russia and Japan starting from this Autumn.
I think we will be also busy writing new material for our future release.
– Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour?
My life on tour usually revolves around two things: sleeping on the van and seeking for food: I’m a fanatic of local foods and I always love to taste something typical of the place every time we move to a different city. Uh, of course then you have to play.
– Does the band write music on the road at all?
Usually not, we prefer to take our time in our studio to be more focused on our music.
– What is the strangest inspiration you’ve ever had for a song?
We love taking inspiration from weirdest things and turn them into something that sounds NORMAL. In our last EP “Pickles” and “Ken Burns” are 2 example of this: “pickles” really talks about the life of pickles in cheeseburgers.
– How important is it for a musician in this generation to spend time on social media?
it’s really important to try to create a bond with the fans through social: especially for a band that comes from Italy like us and who wants to try to expand its fan-base. Everything revolves around social media, even outside music.
– How important is merchandising? Could artists survive without?
We love the merchandise. Not only because it helps us to cover the costs we have, but because we are all fans of this kinds of stuff. We also like the idea of being able to give our fans something new and fun to wear.
– In your opinion, which album would be essential to have if someone were stranded on a deserted island?
fuck music – gimme some pizza!
