Generation Axe Tour Las Vegas
Another great nite at The Joint HRH Las Vegas sat nite with Steve Vai’s Gen Axe Tour!
Also starring Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi.
Playing with a trio of keys, bass and drums each guitarist played by themselves all at once and in various other lineups notably Yngwie and Steve as a duo was “electric” , the ensemble band doing pick scraps and sound effects was great as the members all ‘Monsters in their own way “! And comrades in arms so to speak were obviously visibly having fun!!

As was his walking through the crowd while soloing during it ,now thanks to I phones ! The crowd parted as the behemoth played on ,veins popping out of his arms while dishing out some ferocity that is rarely heard anymore .
The classy Steve Vai played last -and showcased his unique spontaneous amazing playing ,,,,blasting through a myriad of genres and motifs , from simple to complex … Simply fluid and dazzling!
Nuno Bettencourt also was extremely adept at playing with the other guitars , he seemed to in those jam moments follow their lead and help embellish the proceedings and with a smile on his face.
All in all a shredders dream – compelling uplifting and visual , each guitarists poses and body language made the whole idea even more spectacular then it was ! More of this please ! FOUR STARS!!!!
