Blues Traveler Live at Mohegan Sun Arena – July 31, 2026

Blues Traveler brought their 2026 Summer Tour to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on July 31, 2026, delivering a set packed with longtime favorites, covers, improvisation and special guest appearances.

The evening also featured performances from fellow 1990s rock favorites Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors, whose members would later join Blues Traveler onstage for several songs.

Led by vocalist and harmonica player John Popper, Blues Traveler performed material spanning several eras of their career, including fan favorites “Run-Around,” “But Anyway,” “Carolina Blues” and “Hook.”

Blues Traveler Opens the Set

Blues Traveler kicked off their performance with “Things Are Looking Up” before launching into a creative combination of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “Run-Around.”

The band began the Charlie Daniels Band classic and played through the end of the Devil’s band section before transitioning directly into “Run-Around.” After finishing their breakthrough hit, Blues Traveler returned to complete the remainder of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

The unusual arrangement showcased the improvisational approach that has long been an important part of Blues Traveler’s live performances.

The band then reached back to its early catalogue for “But Anyway,” a track from their 1990 self-titled debut album.

Special Guests from Spin Doctors

The connections between the three bands on the bill carried over into Blues Traveler’s set.

Spin Doctors frontman Chris Barron joined Blues Traveler for “Champipple,” a song originally associated with John Popper & The Duskray Troubadours.

Following “Look Around,” Spin Doctors guitarist Eric Schenkman joined the band on guitar for “Carolina Blues.”

Originally released on Blues Traveler’s 1997 album Straight On Till Morning, “Carolina Blues” remains a longtime part of the band’s catalogue.

Blues Traveler Performs “Hook”

Blues Traveler followed “Carolina Blues” with one of their most recognizable songs, “Hook.”

The track appeared on the band’s breakthrough 1994 album four, which also produced “Run-Around” and helped establish Blues Traveler as one of the major American rock acts of the decade.

With John Popper’s distinctive vocals and harmonica at the center of the performance, “Hook” brought the main portion of the set to a close.

Robin Wilson Joins Blues Traveler for the Encore

Blues Traveler returned for an encore with “Breakdown,” the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers classic.

For the performance, Gin Blossoms vocalist Robin Wilson joined the band on vocals.

The collaboration provided a fitting ending to a night that had featured Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors, bringing members of the evening’s lineup together during Blues Traveler’s final song.

  • four – 3 songs
  • Covers – 3 songs

  • Straight On Till Morning – 1 song
  • Suzie Cracks the Whip – 1 song

The combination allowed Blues Traveler to balance some of their biggest 1990s songs with early material, later recordings and covers.

Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors

Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors also performed at Mohegan Sun Arena as part of the July 31 concert, creating a lineup filled with artists closely associated with the alternative rock boom of the 1990s.

Rather than keeping the performances completely separate, members of both bands joined Blues Traveler during their set, adding a collaborative element to the evening.

With Chris Barron, Eric Schenkman and Robin Wilson making guest appearances, Blues Traveler’s performance became a fitting centerpiece for a night celebrating three bands whose music remains closely connected to the sound of 1990s American rock.
