– How was it writing and recording the single Proud.
We had a great time putting it together. The tune had been written for a little while but it really started to take on its own shape and world once we started layering parts in the studio.
– Where did the online artwork for this single come from as an idea?
We actually had been working with an artist who designed a poster for us. We wanted to use different elements of the poster for each of our single releases.
– Artwork without a band logo is an interesting way to do things? What’s
your take on this approach?
We typically would include our logo with the art in our releases. I feel that is important. For these recent releases however, we decided not to include the logo on the initial online releases but will include them on the physical CD. Sort of an experiment I guess.
– Do you have any tours coming up in the near future?
As of the other day, we officially have a bunch of dates lined up for the summer and fall!
– Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on
tour?
Well we have only been a part of weekend shots as of right now; usually those are quite busy and require a decent amount of planning.
– Without social media could bands today manage to survive?
I believe so. There are groups that I have encountered with small social media presence but massive show attendance.
– What would be some of your main musical influences today?
Most modern rock/alternative rock groups are pretty cool. In addition, there can be inspiration/influence in all music. There are aspects in any recording that you can learn/draw from if you are listening with a learning attitude.
– Where do you see music in general going in 100 years from now?
That is tough. I feel the absence of physical instruments seems to be growingly popular and the understanding of theory seems to be diminishing. In my opinion I feel this is more of a trend. I believe that interest and taste shifts and directions constantly change. So who knows!
