The Lazys Interview
Q: What’s new in the world of The Lazys?
A: We just wrapped up a Canadian tour and now we are recording a new album in Toronto!
Q: How was the “Howling Woman” Canadian Tour?
A: The tour was amazing! It was our first headlining tour and the shows were great. we couldn’t be happier with the response we had, our Canadian fans are so awesome to us!
Q: Is touring now basically the same type of schedules as when you first started touring? Are there much differences?
A: It always changes depending on the tour and how extensive it is. Sometimes we have to finish a show and then drive through the night, otherwise we’ll miss a radio interview the next day in the next town. We like our sleep but we are always ready to have none.
Q: For the music video of Howling Woman, how long did it take from start to finish?
A: We started filming at about 6 a.m. getting some shots on the shore and then we were on the barge for about 3-4 hours. We were extremely lucky that the weather was great that day otherwise we would’ve been in a garage!!
Q: What is the strangest inspiration you’ve ever had for a song?
A: I guess Howling Woman. It is actually inspired by a flight attendant named Suzi that was working on our first flight overseas.
Q: Vinyl is making a comeback. Do you have a personal preference? Do you plan on producing a vinyl for the new album?
A: Vinyl is great, but nothing can compare to the original material used to make vinyl and the gear it was intended to be played through. We will definitely have a pressing made for the new album! It’s great it’s coming back.
Q: While on the road, do you find time to practice your instrument?
A: Nah, just performing. Practice is done before tour!
Q: What would be some of your main musical influences today?
A: Definitely AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Billy Talent.
Q: In your opinion, which album would be essential to have if someone were stranded on a deserted island?
A: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles
