Terry Lauderdale Interview

1. What’s going this year for Terry Lauderdale?
Hey Jason! Thank you for reaching out, you rock! This year is going to be super busy with all of the kick ass shows I have coming up…I’ll be playing in California, Washington, South Dakota, Nevada and even in Hawaii! I’m looking forward to meeting the fans!

2. Any new bands or music you are doing?
Right now I’m going full bore with ROCKSKOOL, ULTIMATE VAN HALEN and OZZY ALIVE. I have some offers to do guest recording so I’ll keep you posted.

3. Will there be any tours lined up for you in 2012?
Oh yeah, I’m booked up solid with ROCKSKOOL and ULTIMATE VAN HALEN. You can find out about my dates and the bands I perform with at http://www.terrylauderdale.com/. There is audio, video and even a globe that pinpoints your location when you visit the website!

4. What are your current endorsements?
I use Sfarzo guitar strings, Dimarzio pick ups, Ibanez guitars, vintage guitars from Guitars4stars.com, Dunlop & Paul Trombetta pedals as well as In Tune guitar picks. I’ve just started using the new EVH 5150 III amp that sounds incredible….All great products and I can’t thank them enough for making the music rock!

5. What’s your vision on the Internet as a tool to promote and market Music?
I promote quite a bit through my website, Facebook, Reverbnation, etc. I also have business cards, promotional photographs and guitar picks that I give out at every show. Face to face contact will always be the most important way to connect with fans. I go to the NAMM show every year in Anaheim to meet with vendors, perform demos and connect with old friends.

6. With all the bands coming out today. Do you keep updated with what comes out online at all?
That’s hard to do because I stay focused on the bands I play with. I practice my set lists and give guitar lessons so it’s tough to keep up.

7. What could we find interesting in your music collection at home?
Old Scorpions, UFO, Van Halen, Ramones, Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen.

8. How many guitars are there in your collection now?
Right now I’m down to what I use on stage. I sold a few because I was’nt using them and I wanted to beef up my stage guitars so right now I’m using 4 Ibanez RG550’s, a Kramer Focus 2000 and a EVH Wolfgang signed by Jeff Beck! Chris Guerra at Guitars4stars.com keeps me supplied with Les Pauls and Flying V’s when I need them!

9. Any words for future musicians?
Stay focused, be professional and practice!
