Pryti Interview

– What’s new in the world of Pryti?
Currently getting live stuff sorted and writing new songs.

– How was it working on your promo video Bitter Pill? Filming versus editing must be a lot of work?
I loved working on the video anytime I get to work with my friend Marcus Maschwitz we always have fun. Marcus directed and edited it. I did my own makeup, styled myself so really I think I had it easier than him. It was fun in the woods as no-one was around so no weird looks.

– How do you build a song up from nothing to become something?
Lots of banging your head against a wall lol. I think you have to know where you want the song to go. It has to provoke an emotion you want on yourself. There’s so many factors though, having a good producer who has the knowledge and gets where you are wanting to go helps too.

– When writing a song, is there such a thing as investing too much time? What’s the shortest time you ever took to write one? What was your strangest inspiration?
I don’t think there is such a thing as investing to much time because songs have a mind of there own too. It’s taken me years to write some of my songs sometimes ideas come when they come. I’ve written songs in one day before. The strangest inspiration I had was the TV show Gossip Girl for a song called Ugly. Who knew Gossip Girl would be the inspiration for a hard rock song lol.

Tours

– Do you have any tours coming up in the near future? Not at the moment but hopefully at some point.

– How is the music scene in your area these days? Are clubs still popular? To be honest I’ve never been into going to clubs but there are still Rock club nights that people go to. I think the music scene reflects whats going on in music a lot of diversity.

– What’s your take on the sex appeal in the music industry? Is it as important for men and women?
I think it’s different for men and women. I’m all for women doing what they want to do and if they are comfortable with it. However, it’s a shame that such talented artists have to go naked to be edgy. The thing is a lot of the time it works it get’s them press it helps record sales. Men don’t have to do that as much.

– Is the band fans of Spotify and similar streaming services? What are your thoughts on this? I do like the streaming services it’s a good way to listen to music and find new artists, listen to the latest release before I buy it. It’s a great way for people to find my music. However, the problem I have with these services are the royalties are so little how can artists and bands continue if they are not being paid enough. How is this a help to the independent and unsigned community when you have companies like Spotify boasting they have 30 million paid subscribers. We need each other something more has to be done.

– What would we be surprised to find in your music collection at home?
Chopin and NSYNC.

– Where do you see music in general going in 100 years from now?
Robots will probably be playing music then, pop music will still be the money maker. There will be a lot of different genres and majors won’t have the monopoly but newer technology services will.
