– What’s new in the world of Evil Beaver?
We are doing a lot of gigs in the south west right now. Bunch of cali, sxsw and have some european festival tour dates for the summer at the moment! Recording singles with different producers and releasing each song one at a time for maximum impact! Lol
– There is a lot of concerts dates marked on your website are there new venues that you are looking forward to playing?
Well sure! I’m excited to get back to Texas again! Haven’t played El Paso in about 10 years and austin SxSw is always a blast! I understand the lodge where we are performing our showcase for Reggie’s Chicago is in the center of it all!

– How many shows do you play per year on average, and how crazy does the schedule get?
We average between about 70 to 200 shows a years depending how much touring we are doing vs recordings or making music videos etc.
– Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour?
This is a great question because it is not what most think! Tour is exhausting! We normally wake up earlier than we’d like so we can get in the van and travel to the next town. Travel time can be on average anywhere from 5 hours to 11 hours a day. We snack at truck stops or gas stations along the way normally peanuts or something else, get to venue and load our gear. If we are lucky and make it on time we sound check, set up the Merch table and change into our show outfits. At this point we try to find something decent to eat but not something that takes so long that we miss the performance from the opening band. We play our gig and socialize with friends and fans til about 2 am. We find a place to crash around 3 am or 4 am and repeat. Feel free to YouTube our tour vlogs. – Do you write music on the road at all?
I write music everywhere and all the time. I am able to write songs in my head so I do write all the time.
– Could you describe some of your earliest influences in life and in music?
Motörhead and my mom is my hero always worked hard and provided for us. I learned an amazing work ethic from watching my mom do it. She’s amazing.
– How important are music videos in the industry today? How do they compare to videos from 20 years ago?
Very important. Prob the same as years ago in importance. There is so much out there now that any advantage is worth the effort. Music Videos provide visuals and human beings are seduced easier visually than any other way.
– Which notable bands have you played with throughout the years?
White Stripes, UK Subs, Chevelle, The Gossip, Nina Hagen, Fu Manchu, Peaches, Mugen Hoso, Agent Orange, Barb Wire Dolls, Iggy Pop, Shellac, Rasputina, Local H, Teenage Bottle Rocket, The Muffs, The Vibrators, Naked Raygun, Lady Hawk, GBH, The Polysics, Sleater Kinny, Betty Blowtorch, and a bunch others I can’t recall at the moment. I’ll also tell you bands we should have played with but never did for whatever reason, Kill Hannah and Alkaline Trio. I’m close to both those bands yet we have never shared the stage. Very sad.
– Do you see a biography being written someday about the experiences you acquired or will acquire in your life?
I can see myself as part of a scene from being in the game for so long. Not something just about me but something about the scene for sure where I play a significant role.
– Where do you see music in general going in 100 years from now?
I have no idea. I would imagine things will be very different. Great question.
