Pride Vanity Interview
1. What are your current projects for 2012?
Pride Vanity : I’m really excited about the Vixen project and I’m hoping in 2012-2013 we can tour and or put on some sort of spectacular, wicked Vixen show ! At the moment however, I am working on my group Pride and the Vanities second album, ‘Electric Barbie Star’, soon to hit Summer 2012.
2. How was the process for participating in the Vixens vol.1 compilation by HRX Records?
PRIDE : Pretty smooth…considering I’m in Vegas and the project was born in L.A. with all production and etc. Its good to work with professional peeps ya know. I myself am a ‘Mover and a Shaker”. I get shit done. I don’t fuck around !
3. What are you currently endorsing?
PRIDE : MYSELF ! Lol. Vixen of course. I like teasing interviewers – I don’t like to be bored, so I do my best not to do it to you. (wink). Vavoom Girly Boutique in Vegas, Strip Magazine, Chrome Soda, Double Down Radio -Vegas, High Concept Radio (Extreme XM 165), Vegas Unwrapped – Vegas Kool Radio,www.richardjohnstonmusic.com, Plastic World Fashion, Hillary Salon – Vegas, Blues-land Recording, and Silvestri Studio.
4. Pride what’s your take on the sex appeal in the music industry, etc?
PRIDE : Personally, I don’t think there’s any1 out there as of now that has any genuine sex appeal. Some of these mainstream artist’s in my eye try to hard, takes the essence out the damn fantasy. You either have sex appeal or you dont. Maybe there late bloomers, but currently I’m not turned on. I get more turned on watching not so hyped groups like Metric, The Sounds, Fans of Jimmy Century and old school Vixens like Wendy O! HOT !
5. What’s your vision of the Internet as a tool to promote and get your music out?
PRIDE: It’s a worldwide revolution with the music scene and internet ! It gives “underground/unknowns” a hyper-speed doorway for the world to hear our souls and thoughts. Its technology in a can if you will. Pop it open and see what happens, but don’t get me wrong, ya still gotta bust your ass and be persistant, no matter what you do in this BIZ. It’s a lil different on Planet Privanite (long story).
6. How is the current Music Scene in your area doing?
PRIDE : Not too bad, I am in the entertainment capital of the world – VEGAS ! It’s a tourist town and you’re competing with million dollar Cirque productions and established artists that play to sold out crowds at MGM. I mean seriously, they roll thru here like a raver at a EDC event. Like Axl Rose said, “WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE” lol!
7. Could you tell us about your main influences as a singer, etc?
PRIDE : There really isn’t any particular or main influence… I’m a combo girl… I need many inspirations for something to click… I need a big fix…dig. From Rock to glam, from wave to dance, from punk to classical… I could write book… no time now ;)
8. What could we find interesting in your Music collection?
PRIDE: Ah… Ravel’s Bolero, Fame the musical… love Broadway, Plasmatics and SSQ… to name a few.
9. Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life?
PRIDE : Not a morning person, your sun here is intense, but I will rise early when needed. I love freshly squeezed orange juice… once you go fresh you never go back… so yummy, I wake to this – JUICERS RULE ! I’m getting use to planet Earth, it’s a bit different from Planet Privanite, but that’s another story O). I’m participating in scholastics, you can never learn too much… giving my brain a lil adventure… may get a degree in Philosophy… I mean why not right? Head to voice class, dance class then head home for the PRIDE TV JAM – Working on new album ! Promote the group online and network with all that want a piece… get the Pride 3000 book out, pop open a bottle of wine (red), write lyrics & add to the collection. Create a quick ensemble of fashion, Sushi time, then chill w/ a music documentary from the past… Sometimes this pattern is interrupted, gigs are sporadic.
10. Are there any tour dates lined-up for in the near future?
PRIDE : Ah that would be Radarama! Perhaps HRX Records will deliver? Currently networking with some music peeps online, so let’s hope for Coachella ;)

PRIDE : Look out for 2nd edition of Pride and the Vanities Album – Electric Barbie Star` & Video
