Marcela Bovio Interview

What’s new in the life of Marcela Bovio?
A lot! Just moved to a new house, lots of work to do there!

How is the new Stream Of Passion album coming out?
It’s going so well, we couldn’t be happier! This is the start of a whole new era for the band so we’re really excited.

Any tours for 2013 with Stream Of Passion?
Well it’s a bit too late for 2013 We’ll certainly be performing to promote the new album, still figuring out our options.

What equipment are you currently endorsing, etc.
I’m currently using a Violin from Violtar.com. The guys have endorsements from Mayones Guitars, Teye Guitars, Kool & Elfring Speaker Kabinets, Curt Mangan, Mapex, Amedia, Balbex, Ahead Armor Cases. Among others

What would be some of the craziest stuff you’ve seen on tour?
A topless end of the tour party on our tour bus. May I add, it was only the men who were topless

What were your earliest influences in life?
I grew up with classical music, because of the music lessons I had when I was little.

What would be some of your main influences today?
A bit of everything really; mostly metal, progressive rock and alternative music.

What could we find interesting in your music collection at home?
I don’t know, what do you like? I’ve got a wide taste in music Personally proud of a couple of live records from Richard Galliano I got at North Sea Jazz festival, magical stuff.

Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour?
It’s quite a routine really. You get up, you wait till the bus arrives in the venue, you eat something, wait for soundcheck, soundcheck, eat some more, wait some more, play your ass off, hang out with the crowd and have a bunch of beers, shower, then get back on the bus

Where do you see music going in 100 years from now?
I can only dream someone will remember our music in over a century! If just one person remembers my spirit would be happy!

Marcela I am in the U.S. my parents are from monterrey mexico and I was brought up the same way you were. Classical music was in my early childhood and love to sing opera. Now I tend to listen and write metal music! You are awesome keep on rocking!
